Happiness is…

“I’m so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers.” ~ Anne of Green Gables

I have to wholeheartedly agree with my favourite red headed character; October is a beautiful month!  The leaves match the colours of sunrise and sunsets, and then let go and float to the earth to begin again.  Oh, and not so poetically, two of my favourite people have October birthdays, my mom and my son. 💟

October also means pumpkins, sweaters, and corn mazes here in Edmonton, and I’m sharing a double layout of just that today! 🌽

I used the Fernwood Creative kit, the earthy rich colours were perfect for Fall. This creative kit is sold out but the Add On Kit shown below is still available – and on sale HERE!

Also…check out this brand new Autumn Elements Cut File Bundle! It’s just gorgeous and so versatile.  You can use it for your Fall layouts like mine or turn those leaves green for spring and summer pages.  How beautiful would that vase cut file look with the Hearth and Home Creative kit?!! That’s definitely on my scrappy to-do list!

I knew when I saw this cut file bundle that I wanted to use as many icons as possible and cluster them up. I mixed in only a few elements from the Fernwood Creative kit as the cut files stood out beautifully on their own without overwhelming the page. A little bakers twine adds some nice texture too! 😊

Since I used so many pieces from the Autumn Elements Bundle, I went with a small, unassuming title.  I layered it next to the only group photo of the girls and matted the photo so it stood out.

Lastly, if your like me you have a TON of word stickers kicking around – they make excellent last minute additions to any layout.  Just lay some flat, or pop some up with 3D foam adhesive

When my layout was almost complete, I noticed the pumpkins were the main eye catching elements -which is good, because the cut files are a main element of course, but for me, the photos, and the memory, should always be the star.

So I added in more blue elements like the blueberries and word strips to make the blue sweater my daughter is wearing stand out and therefore make the photos center stage (they’re all dancers, so this metaphor is on the nose, lol).

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  I hope you found some inspiration from this layout and get in some crafty time!
