Summer Fun

Hi everyone! It’s Sylvia back again sharing another 12 x 12 summer layout! This layout features the Simple Stories Summer Lovin’ Creative Kit and coordinating Embellishment Add-ons. These are both available for purchase in the store now.  All of the bright colours in this cheery and fun Creative Kit are just so great!

I have also incorporated several cut files from Jennifer’s wonderful selection! I used the new Sun Background Cut File, and elements from the Little Moments Cut File Bundle and the Gardener’s Cut File Bundle.

My base is Bazzill Marshmallow Cardstock which is meant for a Mixed Media piece.  I started by applying a thin layer of clear Gesso and then let my paper dry.  I then painted my background using PinkFreshStudio Liquid Watercolour in Yellow.  The cut files I used were the garden hose element from the Gardener’s Cut File Bundle, the Smile text element from the Little Moments Cut File Bundle and cut out half of the Sun Background Cut File.

I backed the half sun using various papers from the Simple Stories Summer Lovin’ Creative Kit and used washi tapes to back the Smile Cut file.  For the Garden Hose element, I just used some White Cardstock. I also used a frame from the Add-Ons kit to frame my photo of my three kids when they were little.
