Life is Better in the Garden

by Tracey Campbell

It is half way through Autumn/Fall here in Australia and the weather is perfect to get outside and do a bit of gardening. Like-wise the new Garden Bundle cut files are perfect for these outdoor photos of me enjoying my garden.

For this layout, I have paired the title and tools cut files with papers and stickers from the Reaching Out Creative Kit, the Best Day Creative Kit and a sheet of Simple Stories woodgrain textured card-stock.

I decided that I wanted two different florals from the Reaching Out Creative Kit in the title, so I picked ‘Stick Together’ and ‘Hear For You’ patterned paper and backed the main words in the title; “Life” and “Garden”. For the remainder of the title I chose colours that matched the flowers in the ‘Stick Together’ patterned paper and backed the cut file with it.

Do you have trouble just applying a thin line of glue to your cut files? If you do, my tip is to use the Metal Tip Attachment to your glue bottle, it is very fine and just the right amount of adhesive comes out so that you don’t get glue everywhere.

Next I backed the fork and spade cut files from the Garden Bundle with matching papers on the handles and some gold glitter paper for the metal part of the tools.

For the background I used the ‘Welcome Home’ patterned paper from the Best Day Creative Kit. And to take advantage of the scallop design of the paper, I enhanced it by tracing  around a scalloped ruler and cutting it out with a craft blade, creating a thick border for my base. I then applied some pink ink with a sponge blending tool around the edges of the white wood grain card-stock and adhered the boarder with 3 dimensional tape to it.

After I prepared my base, I matted three 4×3 inch portrait photos with the floral papers from the Reaching Out Creative Kit and adhered them to my base.

To finish off,  I adhered the title to the bottom right hand corner and the tools on the left hand corner of the page. For the finishing touches, I used the Reaching Out stickers as embellishments and scattered them over the page.

Thanks for popping into the blog today! Come back soon to see what else the Creative Team has made with the wonderful May release cut files or if you do use the May cut files then please tag them with #jenniferedwardsoncreative so that we can see how creative you are.

Hugs,

Tracey
