It’s Wedding Season

‘Just Married’ Cards by Katelyn Grosart

Hey Friends! I’m up on the blog today sharing a tutorial on how to make these adorable
Marriage themed cards. To create this card set, I used the Wedding Memories Creative Kit, along with the Hearts Background Cut File.

We will start by creating the Just Married Card. You’ll need to pull out all of the patterned paper out of the Wedding Memories Creative Kit. Cut the white flower on pink background paper to 4” x 5 ¼”. Distress the edges of the paper, then ink the edges of the paper using black ink and a blending tool with foam.

Next, you’ll need the larger floral patterned paper on a black background. Cut the paper down to 3 ¾” x 5”. Distress the edges of the paper and ink the edges of the paper using black ink !

Now, you’ll need the gold lattice on pink background paper. Cut the paper down to 3 ½”x 4 ¾”. Distress the edges of the paper and ink the edges of the paper using black ink !

In the Wedding Memories Creative Kit, there are some plain with dotted patterned coordinating cardstock pieces. Cut the white piece of plain with dots patterned paper down to 3 ¼” x 4 ¼”. Distress the edges of the paper and ink the edges of the paper !

In the Wedding Memories Creative Kit, there are some plain with dotted patterned coordinating cardstock pieces. Cut the white piece of plain with dots patterned paper down to 3 ¼” x 4 ¼”. Distress the edges of the paper and ink using black ink !

Using the Bazzill Dotted Swiss Cardstock in Pepper, cut out the heart background cut file. Trim the heart background down to 3 ¼” x 4 ¼”.

From the ephemera package, take out the Just Married rectangle and the striped label, ink the edges of both pieces using black ink and a blending tool with foam.

Using the chipboard pieces that come in the Wedding Memories Creative Kit, punch out three of the small hearts. Don’t forget to ink the edges !!

Now the layering begins !!

  • Adhere the large floral with black background to the white floral with pink background, and adhere the gold lattice with pink background to the large floral with black background.
  • Next, adhere the heart paper to the plain side of the white patterned paper and the heart background to the heart patterned paper. Using foam squares, adhere the plain white paper piece to the gold lattice on pink background piece.
  • Using foam squares, adhere the striped label to the middle of the heart patterned paper piece. Adhere
the just married rectangle to the middle of the striped label.
  • Adhere the three chipboard hearts as desired. I adhered two around the just married
and one in the top right corner of the heart patterned paper.

Cut a card base out of White Cardstock that measures 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼” and adhere the card front to the card base.

For the finishing touch … using the gold lattice washi tape from the Wedding Memories Creative Kit, add a piece in the top right side and bottom left side of the Just Married rectangle.

Ok … ready for card number 2 !!

Cut a piece of the leaf patterned paper on white background that measures 4” x 5 ¼”. Distress the edges of the paper, then ink the edges of the paper using black ink and a blending tool with foam.

Now you need to cut all the patterns you’ll need for the layering !!

  • Cut a piece of the ring patterned paper on grey background that measures 3 ¾” x 5”. Distress the edges of the paper and ink the edges of the paper using black ink.
  • Next, you’ll need the small white floral patterned paper on black background. Cut a piece that measures 3 ½” x 4 ¾” and distress the edges of the paper using black ink.
  • From the heart patterned paper on black background, cut a piece that measures 3” x 4”. Distress the edges of the paper and ink !

  • From the tag patterned paper, fussy cut the tag with diagonal lines out. Distress the edges of the paper. Ink the edges of the paper using black ink.
  • Next, you’ll need the 4×4 cut apart patterned paper. Trim the 4” square to 3 ¾” x 3 ¾” … cut one of the squares out and flip the square over as you want the blue dotted side.
  • Fussy cut the suitcase stack out as well as the words and so the adventure begins! … then cut the words into two word strips. Distress the edges of the 4×4 square. Ink the edges of the paper and fussy cut images using Licorice Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Let’s Embellish …

Out of the ephemera pieces from the Wedding Memories Creative Kit, you’ll need the circle with floral in the top right corner. Fussy cut around the circle to remove the access white, then distress and ink the edges !

  • Adhere the ring paper to the leaf paper and the small floral paper to the ring paper.
  • Using foam squares, adhere the 3 ¾” blue dot square to middle of the small white floral paper and the heart paper to the 3 ¾” blue dot square.
  • Using foam squares, adhere the tag to the middle of the heart piece as desired. Adhere the floral circle ¼” from the left and ½” from the bottom of the tag.
  • Adhere the stacked suitcases together using foam squares, then on to the left hand side of the floral circle as desired; they will sit partially on the tag.
  • Adhere the two word strips as desired to the bottom right side of the stacked suitcases and tag.
  • Dig out the Enamel Dots from Wedding Memories Creative Kit. Adhere three in the top right side above the circle, two on the left side by the circle and two to the right left side of the stacked suitcases.

Almost done … to finish off the card, cut a card base out of white cardstock that measures 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”. Adhere the card front to the card base … and voila !

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hoped I’ve inspired you to recreate my Just Married Card Set at home.

… Katelyn
