Concert Night

by Andie Green

Hello crafty peeps!  Andie on the blog today sharing one of my latest layouts of my kiddos all ready for their school Christmas concert a few years ago  (ok, 8 years ago, I’m a bit behind, lol!)

My favourite new cut file from the December release is this large holly one – isn’t it gorgeous?!  You can purchase it HERE.

CREATIVE KIT

I knew when I saw it, I wanted to cut it out large and leave it bare.  I paired it with the new Evergreen & Holly Creative Kit which was perfect with all its holly, ivy and poinsettia’s! If you need even more crafty elements, there is also an Evergreen & Holly Add On Kit that has stencils and washi tape to up your game.

For me, in addition to the main creative kit, I got the 12×12 paper pad with 48 more double sided sheets of pattern paper.  I LOVE patterned paper so the more of it I can incorporate into my layouts the better!  (BONUS:  Also included with the 12×12 paper pad is the 6×8 paper pad.)

PLACEMENT

To start, I used a light green patterned paper base and then used some green ink and a sponge to softly ink over the base page roughly where the cut file would be placed.  Then I attached my cut file after I carefully determining placement of the rest of the patterned paper and the photo.  When I adhered the cut file in only a few spots with Art Glitter Glue so that it is ever so slightly lifted off the page in places. I enjoyed the movement and dimension this gave to the layout.

I used the beautiful Evergreen & Holly foil chipboard letter stickers that are included in the main kit to create my title.  With all the white in the cut file and the chipboard stickers, it needed some contrast. So I did some paper tearing and sanding to help separate each of the patterns and make them stand out more.

Each of the 12×12 patterned papers came with a zip strip at the top. I loved that the blue bow one lined up perfectly with the blue bow strip I’d cut out. So I used some 3d foam squares to raise it up and I love the eye-catching effect it had! And with a few star stickers, die-cut bits and enamel dots as finishing pieces, the layout is complete!

I hope you and yours are making merry memories this holiday season! And make sure to document them all and share with us!
