Summer Slip Sliding Layout

by Tracey Campbell

I love, love, love Summertime! The hotter the better for me. And here in Australia, we spend a lot of time outdoors during the Summer months, so sometimes we must pull out the ol’ Slip ‘N Slide and have sliding down the hill in the backyard. I couldn’t resist using these photos of my daughters doing just that! I teamed the photos with the Summer Title cut file as well as the flower from the It’s Summer Cut File Bundle, for a perfect fun-filled Summer layout!

As soon as I saw the Summer Title cut file, I knew that I wanted to use it with the Full Bloom collection by Simple Stories. The colours really appeal to me and make me think fun Summer days.

First, I resized the flower component from the It’s Summer Cut file bundle into three different sizes, so that I could have some different sized elements on the page. I then backed the cut files with pinks, reds and yellows from the different patterned papers. And for the green leaves, I used the patterned leaves from the Simply Spring patterned paper.

Next, I backed the Summer Title cut file. With the photos, I printed them off small enough to fit on to the tags found in the Full Bloom kit. I created a fun element to the page by twisting some twine through the tops of the tags and making it look like the photos are flapping in the breeze across the top of the page.

I used the Summer Title cut file across the bottom of the page, trying to create the appearance of the flowers blooming upwards towards the tags at the top of the page.

I had a lot of fun with these cut files and love how the page came together! We would love to see how you use this cut file, so please TAG us on any of your creations using #jenniferedwardsoncreativeinc.

Take care,

Tracey
