Own Your Dreams

Hi Crafty friends!! I’m back on the blog today to share this layout I created using another NEW cut file from the May release!!

My oldest son has started his SAIT journey in the carpentry program and when I saw the new DIY Cut File Bundle, I knew I had to use it for some of the pictures I had taken of his first few days of school.

We enjoyed walking around the campus together, getting to see where his carpentry lab classes would be held and stocking up at the book store of all the required course material.

When Kai started the program, part of the week was spent online and only part in-person due to the pandemic.  I was just thankful the actual hands on carpentry was done on campus and not in the house!!

For this layout, I selected some of the tool elements from the bundle and sized them to cut out to use as larger accents on the page.  I selected the saw, hammer and screwdriver elements and backed them with card stock to match the patterned papers of the collection.  The “DIY” element was fitting to use as the title!

You’ll notice that more often than not, I use white card stock to cut the files as I’m a fan of allowing the card stock and patterned papers to really pop against the white cut file.  I do select other colours from time to time but I definitely lean towards white!

I’ll be using this new cut file very soon to create some Father’s Day cards and also to document the continued development of our backyard projects!

Stay crafty,

Heather
