Groovy Layout

by Tracey Campbell

Okay I admit it, when I first laid my eyes on the Groovy Cut File Bundle, the first thing that popped into my head was Scooby Doo!!! We are a Scooby loving family here in our household, so straight away I knew what colours and photos I would be using.

My youngest daughter asked for a Scooby Doo party one year, much to my surprise and delight, so I just had to oblige. The Groovy Cut File Bundle was perfect for the photos!

I cut out the Kombi Van, the Groovy title and two of the Peace Sign borders with my Cameo Silhouette and white cardstock.

After I cut out the Peace Signs, I decided that I didn’t just want to use them as a border, I wanted them to be a cut out border. So, I did a bit of playing with a 11×11″ piece of white cardstock and cut out some rectangles from the edges and then adhered smaller pieces of the Peace Sign border to it. I then backed the 11×11 with the Peace Signs attached to a piece of orange patterned paper.

Using some bright orange, lime green and blue patterned papers, I backed the Van and the “Groovy” title. Although I didn’t use it for my layout I think that the Life’s A Party Creative Kit would be perfect to use in combination with the Groovy Cut File Bundle. The embellishments and colours would be the perfect touch!

With the “Groovy” title I wanted the double “O’s” to stand out a bit, so I kept them the same colour. I did this because in my head when I read the word “Groovy,” I hear Shaggy saying it and he always exaggerates his “ooooo’s.”

Once I had everything backed, I adhered it all to the page and embellished it with some paper flowers, sequins and metal buttons.

To finish off, I cut off three Peace Signs from the left over borders and adhered them to the centre of the large paper flowers. I gave them a coat of Boneman Teal Nuvo Vintage Drops to give them a bit of dimension and colour.

I hope that you have enjoyed this layout as much as I enjoyed creating it! Don’t forget to tag us using #jenniferedwardsoncreativeinc on any projects you use with these cut files, as we would love to see them!

Take care,

Tracey
