You Can Do Hard Things

by Heather Fischer

Hi Crafty friends!

Over the summer, my son was thrilled to have his first full time job at a golf course. And to say he was loving it would be an understatement!  At 15, he is ambitious, hardworking and goal oriented. So when he had an accident at work and smashed his ankle, it was devastating for him, and very hard to watch as his Mom.

But…overcoming challenges and disappointment is a part of life and he’s handled this whole situation with strength! 💛

Of course, I must document his story, and this is part of it!  Thankfully my boys are so used to me taking pictures of everything being a scrapbooker, so he’s been agreeable to me taking pictures of the not so fun moments along the way. 😉

When I saw the new Hard Things Cut File Titles that was released, I had a plan right away and these pictures were just waiting to be scrapbooked!

Primarily I choose to cut my cut files in white cardstock to let the other papers stand out. I cut the title in white, then again in a blue and black to match my patterned papers. I then used the AC Foam Squares to mount the blue letters to add some dimension to the title.  Then I adhered the black shadow pieces flush to the page.  This effect really made this fitting title stand out!

I layered the patterned papers along the page in different widths and distressed the edges of some for some added bit of texture to the layout.

I hope you have fun creating with the New September cut files release and remember to share your creations to inspire others too! 😉

Stay crafty,

Heather
