Merry Christmas Double Page layout

by Andie Green

Andie here on the blog today with a double page layout full of Christmas morning smiles from Christmas past. I created this layout using elements from the new Nutcracker Cut File Bundle, that you can purchase HERE.

I have been absolutely loving the beautiful, bright colours of the Mix n’ Mingle Creative kit and Mix n’ Mingle Add On kit. They would work wonderfully with these Christmas morning photos, especially since they printed out a little darker than I’d hoped.

The main kit has perfectly coordinated textured cardstock that makes for the perfect base pages. For this double layout I used the Mint textured cardstock for a nice soft background. This let me also back the Merry Christmas title element with some fun patterned paper.

The group of gifts image element from the Nutcracker Cut File bundle is so awesome!  It’s perfect for adding in little bits of embellishments to any of your Christmas pages OR even birthday pages too.  I had fun backing them each with different patterns of paper and topping with some enamel dots and stickers.  I used some 3D foam to raise this piece up as well as the “oh what fun” sticker too, to add extra dimension to the layout.

Most of you know Jennifer likes to incorporate 2×2 photos into her sketches & layouts, especially in her UYOP classes! They are such a great way to increase the number of photos you can use to tell the story without cluttering your layouts.  The 2×2 photos in this layout were the perfect way for me to showcase a few special gifts myself and the kids received. Cropping the photos did away with any distracting and repetitive backgrounds.

Thank you for stopping by the blog to share in my layout process today.  Be sure to register for the next UYOP class that is being held on January 22 – this is hands down the best scrapbooking class around!!
