Homemade Happiness

by Mari Clarke

Hello friends, it’s Mari Clarke here with another Guest Design project!  Today I am using the Homemade Happiness Cut File to create a 5×7 card!

I cut the teacups from white cardstock and did some ink blending on the white paper before removing the cut files from the mat.  I used Bundled Sage, Peacock Feathers and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Inks to create an ombré effect.  Then I added some stenciling and gold glitter paste over the designs.  I also sprayed the cups with a clear shimmer spray.

I added some gold glitter paste onto a white card mat through a stencil to repeat the paste texture and colour.  I added the white mat to a patterned paper mat (Vicki Boutin Fernwood) and then adhered that to a 5×7 card base.  I added my cups to the front of the card with foam adhesive to add some dimension. The card is finished with a hot foiled sentiment.

I love all of the details in this cut file!  There are so many ways that you can use the different components.  I also really love the technique of ink blending over the files while still on the mat.  It is a fun way to play with colour and create some unique, gorgeous designs with the cut files!

I hope this inspires you to use your cut files in a different way and also to create homemade cards whenever you can!  I had so much fun creating this card!

Have a wonderful day!

xxMari
