Bloom & Grow

BY TRACEY CAMPBELL

Hello everyone, Tracey Campbell here with you today to share my latest Creative Team project using the Gardener’s Cut File Bundle from the latest May cut files release. What fun I had teaming a few of the different elements from the bundle together to create this super cute layout ‘Bloom and Grow’.

For this layout I created a mixed media background using some shimmer water colours on a piece of white cardstock. To do this, I simply used the packaging technique, and achieved this result using three different colours: pink, purple and coral. Next, I used a paint brush to flick splatters of paint over the page. In my layout, I have used a floral pattern from Bloom Street, but the delicate floral patterned paper in the Cottage Fields Creative Kit would be perfect to use.

I backed the floral boots and two butterflies from the cut file bundle with papers that complimented the floral-patterned paper that I used to frame my white card-stock.

I then adhered some glitter to the body and antennae of the butterflies with white glue. It is best to use a glue that dries clear like the Art Glitter Glue.

Next, I used the shimmer watercolour paints to paint the butterfly border cut file. While it was drying, I matted my 4 x 6-inch portrait photo of my youngest daughter Paige with the same patterned papers that I backed the cut files with. I cut three of the butterflies off from the border to use as additional embellishments.

Once I had all the elements ready, I adhered them to the base by tucking the floral boots under the left-hand side of the photo, running the butterfly border across the bottom of photo  (with 3-dimensional tape to add height) and then I strategically placed the butterflies around the base as if they were taking flight. The finishing touch was the title which I adhered across the right-hand side of the butterfly border.

These cut files give off such summery vibes! They make me want to pull out many more photos to keep scrapping. I hope they inspire you too! If they do, make sure that you show us what you create by adding the hash tag #jenniferedwardsoncreativeinc to your project!

Make sure that you visit us again soon to see what other inspirational projects that the Creative Team come up with.

Take care,

Tracey
